the legend returns……….. "A Nightmare in Rotterdam"

Under this name, the first big hardcore rave took place at the Rotterdam Energiehal in 1993.
This so called "Temple of Hardcore" has been pulled down in the meantime, but it´s realistic to say this location was the place of birth of a music trend which gave the "Rotterdam sound" a globally known name and as a result from that, hardcore developed itself into a real lifestyle which appealed to many youngsters. Suddenly, Japan, USA, Australia, Europe and numerous other countries knew where Rotterdam was to be found on the world globe!

Until today, this sub-culture is alive and kicking and, after 10 years, hardcore experiences a true revival! DJ's and artists like Paul Elstak, Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo, Neophyte, Party Animals and lots of others gave the hardcore sound a commercial face to become a mainstream music style. A nice detail is, that very well known producers of today like Ferry Corsten, Michel de Hey and Mark van Dale actually once started their careers by releasing their very first productions on the legendary "Rotterdam Records" label!

Due to the overkill of commercial exploitation of hardcore, the so called "Gabber" lost its credibility in 1997 which resulted in a decrease of public interest. But the real hardcore scene never died and thanks to the persistence of a vast group of die-hard hardcore fans, it´s actually stronger than ever before nowadays!

On the 28th of February the legendary A Nightmare in Rotterdam returns to its roots in Rotterdam, at the famous and huge A-location "Ahoy", which holds 15.000 people.
All hardcore heroes will be present to rock Rotterdam once more to its foundations!
The party will start at 9pm and will continue till 7 the next morning.
