Today at 20:00 the best watched national newsprogram "NOS journaal" broadcasted an item about racism and gabber being the same thing, after the release of a scientific report about violence between different youthgroups. We, the hardcore/gabber artists & organisations would like to make a statement for the people at NOS journaal and for the people who believe that the broadcasted item is based pure on facts:

Don't believe what you hear and see! For many years the media has been trying to create a negative image about our scene & subculture, and this action is nothing different from the rest. This is purely a sensational item made to attract more viewers and/or to shock people. The images and videos shown create an illegal-cult-like atmosphere from which the viewer gets a total negative experience of what hardcore music and parties are all about. We are filled with disgust when we see this being broadcasted on national television. This only stimulates hate and violence towards non-racist hardcore music lovers by other youth groups. We grinned our teeth when NOS-journaal invented the word "lonsdale youth" a few months ago, but that wasn´t about music. Now they spoke of "gabber youth" being the same thing as rightwing-extremists. That's crossing the line in our opinion. In just 2 minutes the NOS journaal again swept away the little positive image that we are trying hard to regain.

To the NOS journaal: If you don’t now how to check your sources or the make an objective item about one of the biggest subcultures in the Benelux, SHUT THE FUCK UP!
