Dance Valley Festival: permission granted to sell one-day tickets for Friday
07-06-2006

Purmerend, the Netherlands, 2 June 2006 – UDC, organiser of the Dance Valley Festival in Spaarnwoude, just outside Amsterdam, has today been granted permission by the local authority to sell one-day tickets for the first day of this year’s two-day festival, Friday 14 July.

UDC Managing Director Brian Bout describes today's decision by Velsen District Council as "A breakthrough, and in several respects a great gesture to dance fans. Ultimately, it was a perfectly organised Dance Valley 2005 and the good behaviour of those who attended our first two-day festival which persuaded the authorities that this measure would be acceptable. The decision that we can now sell one-day tickets for the first day as well as the second – and of course for both together – has come at exactly the right time: there are just six weeks to go before the Dance Valley Festival 2006, and interest is reaching its peak."

Last year's festival was the first edition of Dance Valley that had been held over two days. Unfortunately, one condition of the licence granted for this totally problem-free event was that separate tickets could not be sold for the first day alone. That is not the case with other music weekenders in the Netherlands, such as Pinkpop and Lowlands. According to UDC, the big winners will be the dance lovers who attend the event. "We can now offer fans of acts like The Prodigy and Danny Tenaglia separate tickets for the Friday," says Bout. He adds that extra facilities will be provided to accommodate those with first-day tickets who decide to stay overnight at the festival camp site after all. Tickets for the Friday cost €39.00 and those for the Saturday €62.50. A pass for the whole event, camping included, is priced at €85.00. All prices exclude booking fee. Tickets are available from branches of Ticketbox and on-line at www.ticketbox.nl.
