Purmerend, March 20th – On Saturday, 14 July, from 10:00 in the morning until 23:00 at night, we will be celebrating Dance Valley’s lucky 13th birthday. After the past two double-features in 2005 and 2006, there will be no ‘Dance Valley: The Weekender’ this time. This year the festival in Spaarnwoude will return to its original form. The coming edition will therefore be a journey back in time to the early stages of Dance Valley’s history, as well as the beginning of the future. As the loyal Dance Valley festival-goers have come to expect since 1995, the program is as diverse and exciting as always, with more than 135 artists scheduled to perform. The festival will also be bigger than ever, with a handful of new areas bringing the total to fifteen. The biggest difference, however, is that Dance Valley 2007 now has a theme that will appeal to everyone: THE CIRCUS!

Dance Valley Festival 2007 will be the festive setting for a gigantic circus, with the fifteen areas devoted to their own individual theme. Naturally, the colourful and mixed Dance Valley public will be the festival’s main attraction, but on 14 July we’ll be pulling out all the stops when it comes to show and entertainment. The theme will be interpreted and applied in a number of ways, and Dance Valley 2007 will be a unique mix of all imaginable forms of circus. The Dance Valley festival will be transformed into a musical amusement park full of entertainment, humour, excitement, thrills and surprises. On 14 July the sensational dance circus will contain elements from circuses and freakshows from the last century, traditional circuses with acrobatics and jugglers, contemporary circus acts, modern theatre, alternative street theatre and futuristic illusionist shows. Expect a bizarre musical circus where acrobatics, humour, art, technology, performance art, lights, visuals, fireworks and choreography combine to form one fluid whole.
